“One of the issues we identified in Sonas Ard na Greine for our quality improvement plan was the need to reduce the noise in the lived environment of the home. I contacted Billy in Independent Living Ireland. His team worked with us over the next few months in tailoring a solution to our needs that was compatible with our existing nurse call technology. All calls are now directed to silent vibrating pagers that are carried on the person of the nursing and care staff. The positive effect this has had for our residents is immense and the environment of the nursing home is much calmer. This is of particular benefit to our residents living with dementia. The team in Independent Living Ireland were very supportive and always at hand when we needed them, particularly when the system was going live and this gave great reassurance to our staff.”
